Tanzprogramm / Dance Programme

Namaskaram ihr Lieben :) 
 

Nun war es endlich soweit, wir hatten unser Tanzprogramm. Wochenlanges Tänze lernen und proben haben sich bezahlt gemacht. Auf dem Platz des Busbahnhofs wurden eine große Bühne und mehrere Reihen an Stühlen aufgestellt und dann konnte es auch schon losgehen. Leider mussten wir an dem Tag noch ein paar Ausfälle verzeichnen und noch mal schnell alles umschmeißen. Kurzerhand habe ich meine Kamera vor der Bühne aufgebaut und als erstes wurden zwei Polizisten die von uns eingeladen wurden auf die Bühne gebeten und einer von ihnen hat dann eine Rede gehalten. Dann haben Nele und ich, Usha und eins der Kinder Reden auf Telugu, Englisch und Deutsch (Reihenfolge passend zu den Personen) gehalten. Danach habe ich mich dann mit einer zweiten Kamera vor die Bühne begeben um das Programm nochmal aus einer Perspektive zu filmen und auch ein paar schöne Fotos zu machen. Es war dann ziemlich anstrengend die ganze Zeit still zu halten um zu filmen und dabei noch die ganze Zeit zu stehen, aber es hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt. Das Programm wurde von einigen hilfsbereiten Menschen aus Deutschland unterstützt. Nochmal ein riesen großes Danke an Grit, Stefan, Ute, Silke, Alexander, Andreas, Steffen, Ronny, Rose, Gisela, Falk, Beate, Wolfram, Inge, Manfred, Sven, Rainer, Heike, Franziska und Jörg. Das Programm war ein großer Erfolg und auch das von mir geschnittene Video ist wirklich schön geworden. Falls Interesse besteht es zu sehen, es können auch DVD’s verschickt werden. Unter Kontakt oder Privat könnt ihr mich anschreiben falls ihr ein Exemplar haben wollt. Den Rest des gespendeten Geldes werden wir für Reparaturarbeiten an der Schule benutzen. Falls DU/SIE die Schule in der ich Momentan arbeite auch unterstützen willst/wollen können sie dies gerne tun, es werden nach dem Umbau selbstverständlich Fotos hier und wenn gewünscht auch privat gesendet. Die Schule hat leider einige Veränderungen dringend nötig. Die Kinder würden sich riesig über eine sichere und schönere Schule freuen!

Am 10.04. fahren wir dann jetzt nun endlich doch noch zur Tour, da das letzte Datum aus verschiedenen Gründen verschoben werden musste. Die Kinder und ich freuen uns schon richtig! :D

Und dann geht alles auch ganz schnell, nach der Tour ist noch eine Woche Schule und dann eine Woche Klausuren. Nach den Klausuren begeben Nele und ich uns dann auf große Entdeckertour durch Nordindien und ich bin jetzt schon aufgeregt. Das wird wirklich eine prägende Erfahrung, da wir ohne Vorbuchungen und nach Gefühl reisen wollen. Eine Route steht zwar aber wir wollen spontan entscheiden wann wir weiter Reisen wollen.

Now it really happened. The dance programme is over. The weeks of learning dances and doing rehearsals payed out. Unfortunately we had do make some changes because some of the children did not turn up. They built a really big and beautiful stage at the usual bus stand in Ramasamudram. At first I fixed my camera in front of the stage and then the programme could start. Then Usha invited two police officers to the stage and one of them did a speech. After that Nele and I, Usha and a student made a speech in Telugu, English and German (in this order fitting to the names). Then I shifted myself in front of the stage to film with another camera out of a different angle and to make some nice photos. It was really exhausting to hold the camera the whole time while standing but it was worse it. The dance programme was supported by some helpful people in Germany. Again a really big thank you to Grit, Stefan, Ute, Silke, Alexander, Andreas, Falk, Beate, Steffen, Ronny, Jörg, Heike, Inge, Manfred, Franziska, Rainer, Sven, Rose, Wolfram and Gisela. The programme was a big success and also the video that I cut turned out really nice. If you are interested to see the video, I can also send it with a letter. I you want to have one DVD then please contact me under “contact” or in private. The rest of the donated money we will use to do some repair work in the school. If you are interested in supporting the school then you can still do it. The school really needs a change and the children would be so happy to have a safe and nice school again!

On the 10.04. we will finally go on the tour to Mysore. We had to delay the date because of some reason or the other. The children and we are really looking forward to it. 

Then everything is coming really fast, after the tour there is one more week of school and one week of exams. After that our adventure to North India starts and I am already really excited. It will be really demanding because we want to travel without bookings and after our feelings. We have a fixed route but want to go from one place to the other whenever we feel like it.

Hier mal wieder ein Lebenszeichen, aber in letzter Zeit war auch viel los. Leider war ich aber eine Zeit lang durch Magen Darm Beschwerden außer gefecht gesetzt und bin sogar nach Bangalore gefahren um das abchecken zu lassen. Habe auf jetzt auf jeden Fall Medikamente genommen und es geht mir schon viel besser! 

Die Dancefunction der anderen Schule hat dann jetzt auch stattgefunden und unsere Kiddis waren wirklich super! Hier ein Foto von einem der Tänze:

Ich bin wirklich stolz auf sie, da wir wirklich viel und lange für die Tänze geprobt haben. Jetzt geht es aber vor allem daran, da wir jetzt mit den Kindern unserer Schule für unser Tanzprogramm üben und einstudieren müssen. Wir machen zum Beispiel Tänze zu Brüderlein komm tanz mit mir, Atemlos und A,e,i,o,u von Kika Tanzalarm. Das ist super anstrengend (da es gerade echt heiß ist) aber auch total schön, weil es den Kindern tierisch Spaß macht. Außerdem lernen sie noch indische Tänze und wir müssen ein paar weiteren Kindern noch die schon gelernten Tänze beibringen. Weiter werden noch einige andere Dinge eingebaut, wie Reime von den kleinen Kindern.

Durch die Hitze machen wir aber nur noch halbtags Schule (im Moment sind so gegen 10/11 Uhr schon 30 Grad und bis zu 35 Grad). Jedenfalls ist es nachmittags dann nicht mehr möglich Schule zu machen, geschweige denn zu tanzen. 

Am Freitag fahren wir dann mit 30 Kindern unserer Schule nach Mysore einer Stadt die sich 6 Stunden von Ramasamudram entfernt befindet. Wir fahren also über Nacht hin und über Nacht wieder zurück. Ich bin sehr gespannt wie das wohl wird.

Here comes a new Update about my life ;) Unfortunately I was ill for some time and even had to go to Bangalore for a Check-up. I got some medicine and really feel better now.

The dance function of the other school took place and the children of our school did really good! Here some photos:

I am really proud because we practiced a lot with children. But now we are planning for our school function. We teach them some dances for German songs. This is really exhausting (it is sooo hot), but also really fun because the children love to dance. Besides they learn some Indian dances for telugu songs and we have to teach the dances they learned in the other school to some more children of our school. Furthermore they are doing some other things, for example rhymes with the small children.

Because of the heat we only have half a day school (at 10/11 am it is already 30 to 35 degree). Nevertheless in the afternoon it is too hot to have school or do some dancing.

Friday we will go on a tour to Mysore (a city which is 6 hours from Ramasamudram) with 30 children of our school. We will start in the night and get back in the night. I am really curious how this will be.

What is going on? Was ist so los?

Ich melde mich mal wieder. Im Moment ist hier echt viel los. Den ganzen Monat findet ein Hindufestival statt bei welchem in einem großen Tempel in Ramasamudram spezielle Pujas gemacht werden und die Götterstauen mit vielen Blumen geschmückt werden. Zu diesem Anlass haben Nele und ich uns entscheiden jedes Mal einen Sari anzuziehen. Die Leute im Dorf können immer gar nicht glauben, dass wir den Sari selber gewickelt haben. Gestern waren wir dann auf einer Art „Babyparty“ zu der unglaublich viele Menschen eingeladen waren. Erst hat das Paar Sachen in ein rituelles Feuer geworfen und dann wurden der schwangeren Frau Geschenke der Gäste dargebracht. Das Ganze soll Glück für das Baby und das Paar bringen. Nach der Function gab es dann noch unglaublich viel Essen und man hat ein paar Geschenke bekommen.

Wir gestalten gerade die Website der Schule um, was auch Zeit beansprucht. Es muss einiges geändert und erneuert werden. Außerdem wollen wir zwei Schilder in der Nachbarschaft der Schule malen auf welche der Schulname und ein Pfeil in die richtige Laufrichtung gemalt werden soll. Da ein Maler teuer ist übernehmen wir gerne diese Aufgabe. Dieses Jahr soll ein Ausflug mit den Kindern stattfinden, wir werden nach Mysore fahren und dort zum Beispiel den Fluss und einen Zoo besuchen. Dies wird mit einer anderen Schule zusammen stattfinden.

At the moment a lot is going on here. The whole months there is a Hindu festival in one big temple in Ramasamudram where they do special pujas and decorate the gods with a lot of flowers. For this occasion Nele and I are trying to wear a sari to the temple. The people in the village are really surprised when Usha tells them that we put on the sari by ourselves. Yesterday we went to a kind of “babyparty” where a lot of people came. First the couple burned some things in the ritual fire and then the guests gave many gifts to the pregnant woman. This function should bring luck to the babay and the couple. After the function we got huge hills of food and we got some gifts.

We are redesigning the school website which takes some time. We need to change and renew things. Besides that we want to draw some signs so that people can find the school. A painter would be really expensive so me and Nele will do it with pleasure. This year we will do a tour with the school children to Mysore. There we are going to see for example the river and the zoo. We will do it together with another school near Ramasamudram.

Midstay Camp

Auf den letzten Post folgt jetzt schon der nächste, denn in letzter Zeit war wirklich viel los. Jetzt möchte ich euch vom Midstay Camp berichten. Undzwar mussten alle Freiwilligen nach Coonoor kommen, dass liegt in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu ist ein weiterer Bundesstaat in Indien und liegt unter Karnataka und Andhra Pradesh. Man spricht dort Tamil und es ist einer DER Bundesstaaten wo Tee angebaut wird. Das Klima ist eher kühl und auch als wir dort waren haben wir gefroren. Nele und ich mussten einen Tag vorher losfahren, weil das sonst alles nicht mit dem Bus nach Bangalore und dem Zug geklappt hätte. Außerdem mussten wir erst nach Coimbatore mit dem Zug fahren (10 Std.) und von da aus dann nach Coonoor (2 1/2 Std.). Dadurch kamen wir dann schon um 10 Uhr morgens an und die Anderen kamen aber erst um 4 Uhr nachmittags. Zum Glück konnten wir aber schon in das Hotel. Das Hotel lag auf einem Berg von dem man auf Teeplantagen schauen konnte, dass war super schön. Außerdem war es christlich, sodass einen riesige Jesusbilder angestarrt haben. In Coonoor haben wir uns dann auch eine Teefabrik angeschaut was ich interessant fand.

Das Camp an sich war okay aber eigentlich fand ich den Austausch mit den anderen Freiwilligen sinnvoller als das Program. Wobei es mir gut gefallen hat, dass wir uns einen Brief geschrieben haben wo wir festhalten konnten was wir in dem zweiten Teil unseres Freiwilligendienstes noch machen wollen. Am letzten Tag mussten wir aber noch das Hotel wechseln, weil dieses an dem Tag spontan der Strom gekappt werden sollte. Wir haben dann dorms geschlafen, also wirklich alle zusammen. Aber das war irgendwie für den letzten Abend schön, sodass man sich noch lange mit den anderen unterhalten hat.
Da Neles und mein Zug erst am Abend fuhr und wir morgens aus den dorms mussten sind wir dann noch mit ein paar anderen nach Ooty gefahren um dort den Tag zu verbringen. Dort waren wir im Botanischen Garten und ein bisschen shoppen.

Dann sind wir um 12 Uhr abends von Coimbatore nach Banglore gefahren und gestern dann wieder in Ramasamudram angekommen.

It was happening so much in January so this blogpost is following very quick. I want to tell you about the Midstay Camp where we had to go to Coonoor. This is in Tmil Nadu. Tamil Nadu is another State of India which is under Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The people speak Tamil and it is one of THE states for tea plantation. In Coonoor the temperature is really cold so that I was freezing. Nele and I had to go one day earlier because of the timings of the bus to Bangalore and the train. We had to go to Coimbatore (10 h) and then to Coonoor (2 1/2 h). We arrived at 10 am and the other volunteers where coming at 4 pm but fortunately we could go to the hotel at 10. The hotel was on a hill where you had a view of some tea plantations which was really beautiful. The hotel was christian and so we were watched by two big pictures of Jesus. We visited one tea factory.

The Camp was okay but I think the exchange with the other volunteers was way more useful and interesting as the program. But I liked that we had to write a letter to our self where we had to write what we want to do in the last half of our volunteer service. At the last day we had to change the hotel because it was going to get a power cut. Then we where staying in dorms. So all the girls and ll the boys had to stay in one big room. This was really cool for the last night so we had conversation till the night. Because we had to leave in the morning and Nele and I were going back at the night we went to Ooty with some other volunteers. There we visited the Botanical Garden and did some shopping.

Urlaub / holidays

Hier mein kleiner Urlaubsbericht. Ich war mit meinen Eltern in Udupi, einer Pilgerstadt mit vielen Tempeln und in Gokarna. In Udupi haben wir uns den Sri Krishna Tempel angeschaut. Außerdem sind wir im angrenzenden Malpe am Strand gewesen und haben die kleine St. Mar'y Island besichtigt. Diese war aber leider sehr verdreckt und dadurch fast nicht mehr schön. In Gokarna hatten wir ein super Hotel, was driekt auf den Klippen lag und einen tollen Ausblick hat. Danach musste ich meine Eltern auch schon wieder zum Flughafen in Bangalore bringen.

Danach bin ich noch in Bangalore geblieben und hatte einige nicht ganz so schöne Erfahrungen. Meine Couchsurferin war nicht zu Hause und ich war das erste mal wirklich alleine unterwegs. Natürlich wurde ich dann erstmal promt von einem Hund gebissen. Es war am hellichten Tag und ich habe absolut gar nichts gemacht um den Hund auf zu schrecken. Zum Glück hat es nicht geblutet und ich habe nur blaue Flecken wo die Zähne des Hundes waren. Danach habe ich mich fast nicht mehr in die Gegend getraut und wurde zum Glück von einer Arbeitskollegin von Elisa aufgenommen. Ich durften dann sogar noch Montag dort bleiben, wo Elisa und Vani schon wieder zur Uni gefahren sind. Ich bin wirklich unglaublich froh, dass ich nach dem Schockerlebnis nicht komplett alleine war. Ich hatte aber mit Elisa und Vani noch ein paar wirklich schöne Tage.

I just want to give a brief summary of the holiday with my parents. I went with them to Udupi which is a Pilgrim city with a lot of temples. There we visited the Sri Krishna Temple and went to the near Malpe beach and the St. Mary's Island. The Island was quiet nice but because it was full of garbage I did not like it that much. Then we went to Gokarna where we had a super nice hotel on the cliffs. After that I already had to bring my parents to the airport in Bangalore.

 I stayed for a few days in Bangalore and had some pretty bad experiences. At first my host from couchsurfing was not at home at I had to stay all by myself and then I got bitten by a dog right next to her house. I really did nothing to annoy the dog and it was in the middle of the day. Fortunately it did not bleed and I only had some bruises where the dogs teeth pinched me. Then a colleague of Elisa let me sleep at her apartment and even when Elisa and Vani had to go back to the university I could stay. I was really glad because I was not alone after this shock. I really enjoyed the time with Elisa and Vani and the things we did.

Mit diesem Blogpost möchte ich einmal Missverständnisse und Unverständliches vorbeugen. 

Zu aller erst ich fühle mich in Ramasamudram, in meinem Haus, mit meiner Gastfamilie und Mitfreiwilligen pudelwohl. Natürlich gibt es immer etwas was nicht gut läuft oder über das man sich so schön aufregen kann. Ich denke für viele Menschen die nur meinen Blog lesen können einige Dinge echt krass erscheinen. Fakt ist aber, dass ich mich hier an die Gegebenheiten angepasst habe und gut damit klar komme! 

Ja, die Toilette ist eigentlich nur ein Loch im Boden und anstatt Klopapier wird hier Wasser benutzt, aber das ist NICHT schlimm. Wenn man nur genau darüber nachdenkt ist es einfach nur unbekannt und nicht unhygienisch. Etwas mit Wasser zu säubern ist doch sauberer als nur mit Papier, oder nicht? ;)

Auch mit Dusche kommt man nach kurzer Gewöhnung sehr gut klar, durch unseren Tauchsieder gibt es jetzt auch warmes Wasser. 

Aber auch andere Dinge können einem im fernen Deutschland sehr fremd und damit manchmal gleich auch schlecht vorkommen. Auch wenn ich negativ von manchen Sachen schreiben sollte, dass bedeutet nicht das es immer schlecht ist, ich habe mich hier schon so an alles gewöhnt, dass ich das alles nicht mehr 100% wahrnehme. Dann findet man halt immer noch was worüber man sich aufregen kann.

Ich möchte damit jetzt auch niemanden persönlich angreifen, es passiert nur schnell und deshalb möchte ich ein bisschen Vorbeugung betreiben! Alles was ich hier berichte ist auch nicht DIE einzige Wahrheit, besonders in Indien scheint es mir tausende Wahrheiten zu geben. Deshalb nur zur Erinnerung, ich berichte subjektiv über meine Erfahrung und schreibe keine absolute Wahrheit nieder.

Update: In 3 Tagen kommen meine Eltern wieder und am 08.01. fahren wir dann in den Urlaub! Ich freu mich schon.

With this blogpost I want to prevent misunderstandings. 

First of all I really love the live in Ramasamudram, in my house, with my host family and my co-volunteer. 

But there will always be something I can complain about. For the people reading my blog some things could seem really dramatic but I got adjusted to the situation and it is not terrible!

Yes, you could say that the toilet is only a hole in the ground and you use water instead of paper but that is not dirty it is just unknown and what you don’t know you don’t want to use. And  hey if you think about it if you clean something with water it gets cleaner than if you try to clean it with paper, don’t it? ;)

With the shower I also get along really well! And with our water heater we even have hot water.

Also other thinks can seem way worse in a country far away from India. Even though I talk negative about some things does not mean that they are really that awful. I just got used to everything and don’t see it the way I would have seen it before. But I just find some things to complain about and isn’t it wonderful to complain? :D

I don’t want to offend anybody with this post, I just want to provide misunderstandings. I don’t write down THE truth. It is my own view with my own understandings. There is no truth, especially here in India I feel like there are thousands of truths. I just want you to remember: My blogpost are subjective and from my own viewpoint.

Update: In 3 days my parents are coming back and then we will go on holiday, yeeah! I am really excited for this.
